This is the most recent letter from her. –Lisette
I have five minutes….. aaah!
Right now I have to investigators who are completely different. One just loves our company. She’s single. She’s older. She likes to have friends and she likes to talk. She’s refined. She gives us gifts and food. The other one is really rough around the edges. Long hair. Smokes. Bad teeth. Works really hard but never seems to get anywhere. I love them both, but right now the latter is my favorite investigator.
She’s a truth-seeker. She has gone to the ends of the earth to find truth… to find all truth, to embrace it, and to incorporate it into her life. It’s fun to talk religious philosophies with her and bring her around to the viewpoint of all religions have similar elements because they all originated from the same point. Lessons can be kind of challenging…. but it’s an challenge worth rising to.
The former is comfortable. And that’s a problem. She tells us she wants to find truth… but she’s not willing to do anything about it. She has plenty of time on Sunday… but straight up told us last night that she won’t come to church. She doesn’t want to offend her friends at her current church. I just shook my head and asked her: “Do you want to know the truth? Is it the most important? Are you willing to sacrifice for it?” She said no. After we left her house, I felt tired.
Mmm… that was really disjointed. But here’s the point: If you want to know the truth, it’s going to require some work. You’re going to have to get outside your comfort zone. You’re going to have to try new things. For heaven’s sake: I’m in Taiwan, on a bike, in a skirt. Uncomfortable? Yes. Worth it? Yes.
Love you all!!
